• Work will be juried from prints. Prints must be on RC or fiber paper and not mounted or framed.
• There is no size limit on the jury prints, but note the size limit of accepted work below.
• Black and white photographs only. Toning is permitted.
• No digital may be used in any part of the creation of the work.
• Maximum 4 entries at $15.00 each for non-members, $12.00 each for members. (Membership in the Brush Art Gallery is not required for entry).
• You may mail or hand-deliver your entry prints to The Brush Art Gallery, 256 Market St., Lowell, MA. 01852.
• Deadline for submission: Friday, December 12. Please note this is a delivery deadline, not a "postmarked by" deadline.
• Please include a stamped, self-address return envelope with sufficient postage to return your print(s).
• Please affix an entry ticket (provided below) to the back of each entry print
• Note that it is very important to provide an active e-mail account that you check frequently, as all communication, including notification of acceptance/rejection, will be done via e-mail.

• You will be notified by e-mail no later than December 23 if your work was/was not accepted
• Each accepted work must have on the back:
  1. your name
  2. mailing address
  3. phone number
  4. photo title
  5. photo price
  6. email address that you check frequently

***Please print clearly as we will be using this information to generate wall labels. Only your name, photo title and photo price will be included in the wall labels ***

• Work must be mounted, framed with metal or wooden frames and securely wired for hanging. Glass or plexiglass is strongly recommended.
• No sandwich frames (too dangerous) or sawtooth frames (too unpredictable) are allowed.
• Please affix cardboard corners to your work to protect it until it is hung. The gallery cannot be responsible for scratches to frames that are not protected with cardboard corners.
• A 30% gallery commission will be taken on each work sold, so price accordingly.
• Maximum size of framed work for each piece is 120 inches (approximately 2 x 3 feet)
• All accepted work must be hand delivered to the Brush Art Gallery no later than Saturday, January 24th at 4:00 PM. Sorry, framed work cannot be accepted or returned via USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc.
• If you would like to have your work included on a planned on-line show on the Brush's website, please provide a CD of your accepted piece(s), along with a file containing titles, sizes, and prices.
• Prizes awarded at the Photo2009 Show opening on Saturday, January 31, 2009
• End of show is March 14 at 4 PM. Pickup of exhibited work is Sunday, March 15 and Monday, March 16 between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Please note that we have limited storage facilities so we must charge a storage fee of $3.00 per day for any work left after 4:00 pm on March 16th

 

 

 

The Brush Art Gallery is housed in a restored silk mill in the National Historical Park next to the Visitor Center. The complex, which was modeled on the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA, houses a 2,000 square foot gallery for changing exhibitions by regional, national, and international artists, as well as studios for 15 resident artists. The gallery is handicapped-accessible.
