The Lowell Folk Festival, in collaboration with The Brush Art Gallery presents Art in the Courtyard Arts and Fine Crafts, a venue of the 24th Lowell Folk Festival, Lowell, Massachusetts.

Celebrating the 24th year of the largest free Folk Festival in the country, the Lowell Folk Festival, in partnership with the Brush Art Gallery and Studios is pleased to announce the 4th annual Art in the Courtyard, an arts and fine crafts component of the Lowell Folk Festival. This exciting collaboration will provide an opportunity for visitors to view and purchase some of the finest art and craft works being produced.

Art in the Courtyard will be held in the shaded, brick-lined courtyard between the National Historical Park Visitor Center and the Brush Art Gallery. Tents will be set up to provide a welcoming place, rain or shine. Conveniently situated between Market Street and the Dutton Stage, one of the main music and dance stages of the Folk Festival, Art in the Courtyard is a high-traffic spot during the festival. In addition to this, local artists will be displaying and selling their artwork at both the Brush Art Gallery and Studios and the ALL (Arts League of Lowell) Arts Gallery. These two galleries are right on the courtyard. This creates a strong center for art and fine crafts for the Lowell Folk Festival.

Note that the application and fee must be at the Brush Art Gallery and Studios by June 1st at 4:00 pm. Accepted applicants will be sent an information packet that includes directions, drop-off instructions, parking information, etc. In order to ensure the quality and aesthetics of this exhibition, artwork will be juried from your website or from the images you submit on-line. The jurying will be performed by a number of qualified arts professionals and the Lowell Folk Festival committee. Art in the Courtyard 2010 is providing to each participant a 10x10 tented space, 1 table and 2 chairs. Tents will be assigned so that different media are distributed in such a way as to avoid repetition as much as possible.

Security for your artwork. Exhibitors are provided, free of charge, a locked facility in which to store their work over night on Friday, July 23 and Saturday, July 24, 2010. This will eliminate the bother of having to drive into the city each day in order to unload/load your artwork from/into your vehicle.

Volunteers will be available during the day to give you a break so that you can visit the nearby Festival food tents to sample a wide variety of delicious ethnic foods.
