“Tree, Tree, Tree” – Art Quilters show us their creative techniques highlighting our theme of trees. Seasons like winter, spring, summer, or fall to showcase their favorite trees. Some quilts are inspired by creating parts of trees like roots, branches, and leaves.
ABOUT THE JURORS
Guest Curator, Mary Walter, is known for her original quilting style often incorporating a mix of traditional, ethnic, and artistic quilting styles in her work. Mary is also a freelance curator presenting exhibits for a variety of cultural organizations and a member of NACQJ, the Nationally Certified Quilt Judges organization since 2000. You may also find Mary teaching in her studio or on zoom, lecturing, designing patterns and fabric, and quilting, quilting, quilting.
Jenny Gilbert – Quilter and steward of trees at Mount Auburn Cemetery. Jenny was the longtime curator at the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell before becoming a full-time fundraiser for cultural organizations in the Boston area. In addition to her work in philanthropy, Jenny manages Mount Auburn’s artist-in-residence program, the first of its kind at an historic cemetery, which supports artists in a variety of media and disciplines annually.
