Juror: Karey Bresenhan, President and CEO, Quilts Inc. We are thrilled to have Karey this year. Karey has co-founded numerous quilting-related groups, including the International Quilt Association and Quilts Inc., which stages the annual International Quilt Festival.
Special Artists' Reception: Saturday, August 11, 2 - 4 pm featuring menus and foods served during Charles Dickens visit to Lowell
Kyoto Kimono Trunk Show featuring vintage kimonos, silk and more! Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11. Details will be posted when available.
This juried exhibition, organized by the Brush Art Gallery, identifies and encourages quilt artists. The exhibition will include art quilts from artists throughout the United States and Canada. The exhibition will provide an overview of some of the finest quilts being produced; it is a feature of the 2012 Lowell Quilt Festival August 9 - 12.

Talks and demonstrations by members of NESBA, dates TBA.
Presentation by the Massachusetts Audubon Society on edible, poisonous and other mushrooms. Date TBA.
Special exhibition of work by talented Lowell High School photography students. Date: September 22 and 23.

ENCOUNTERS WITH CANCER
Artwork by cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones.
November 8: Brush Gallery/Lowell General Hospital Fundraiser

November 19 : Talks and Lectures
Suffering, surviving or caring for someone with cancer changes us forever. Encounters with Cancer uses art to focus on this experience. The exhibition is open to artists who are currently battling cancer, who have survived cancer or who are caring for someone with cancer. Artwork should reflect the artist's experience with this disease. All two dimensional and three dimensional work is welcome.
In conjunction with this exhibition will be a series of talks by cancer professionals. The Brush Gallery will be working with Lowell General Hospital to raise funds for and awareness about the many free services LGH provides to cancer victims and their families. Showing at an adjacent gallery and in conjunction with Encounters with Cancer will be the Eli Lilly's Oncology on Canvas collection.
